シドニーのマッコリ―大学には新入生向けに Pre-departure Guide(新入生ガイド)という冊子があります。
これにはオーストラリアでの生活から大学についてたくさんのことが記載されており、これから入国して生活を始める学生の手引書となっています。
さて、この Pre-departure Guide の中には、他国からの学生が困らないようにと、いわるゆる「オージー英語」の解説もあります。

Chill-out Designed or used for relaxing, e.g. “This is my favourite chillout record”
Chips French fries
Chockers Completely full
Chook A woman, e.g. “A nice old chook”
Crisps Potato chips
Cuppa A cup of tea or coffee

Dag A person who is neat in appearance, conservative in manners, and lacks style and sophistication
Daggy Possessing the qualities of a dag
Daks Trousers or shorts
Dill A stupid person
Dinki-di True, genuine, honest, e.g. “Dinki-di Aussie”

Ear basher Someone who talks too much
Echo Someone who reflects or imitates another
El cheapo Of or relating to that which is cheap.

Full on Intense

Mate An expression given to someone of close acquaintance, a friend; common between males, but also used by females

No worries A common expression to indicate that everything is all right

On ya An expression of encouragement commonly used in acceptance, e.g. “Good on ya!”
Oodles A large quantity; oodles of money

Piddling Very small; insignificant
Piker One who does not keep his/her word; someone who breaks his/her promise
Pom An English person
Q
Quack Any medical practitioner, not necessarily an inferior one
Quid Generally refers to money, e.g. “He’s got a lot of quid”

Razz To deride; make fun of; extreme criticism
