昨日、GEOS オーストラリア8校の閉鎖の話をコラムを取り上げましたが、昨今のオーストラリアでの留学生向けの学校の閉鎖状況について、オーストラリア政府国際教育機構 Australian Education International (AEI) の
Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) のページにいろいろと記載があります。
オーストラリア全土にまたがる GEOS 8校の閉鎖に関して
GEOS Colleges: Important information for current or intending students （一部抜粋）
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS OF GEOS COLLEGES ON STUDENT VISAS
• The GEOS English Colleges and St Marks International Colleges have closed and will no longer be teaching overseas students.
• The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) is arranging meetings for students on a student visa as soon as possible to advise you of what steps are being taken to help you continue your studies as quickly as possible. Please note that this is different from the meetings organised by the administrators of the GEOS College Group, Ernst and Young.
• You will be advised of the details of your meeting by SMS and/or email. Please ensure that you check your messages regularly and pass on all information to your friends and classmates.
• Details of meetings arranged are attached to this notice and will be added to as arrangements are finalised.
他のにも近年は以下の学校閉鎖がありました。
ブリスベンの Spark hairdressing Academy の閉鎖
シドニー City のビスネス・カレッジ SBI (Sydney Business Institute) の閉鎖
シドニーの西のサバーブ Bankstown の SYDNEY FLIGHT TRAINING CENTRE の閉鎖
メルボルンの Australian International College of Commerce (AICC) の閉鎖
ノース・マンリーの英語学校 Maewill English College の閉鎖
NSW, VIC 州の Meridian College に関連する9校の閉鎖
上記のような話もありましたが本日月曜日も何も進展がありませんした。学生はいつもどおり他の英語学校への編入の手続きがなされる予定ですが、いつもどおり時間がかかる とも思われます。学生への早期対応を期待します。
